Himalaya Yoga Retreat

Where the Mountains Invite You to Return to Yourself

13 Days / 12 Nights  |  Guided by Elena Efanova

A Spiritual Journey of Yoga, Sacred Encounters & Inner Discovery

A Journey Beyond the Ordinary

There are moments in life when something within us longs for silence. A quiet space away from expectations, responsibilities, and the constant movement of everyday life.

A place where we can simply breathe, listen, and reconnect with ourselves.

In the heart of the Indian Himalayas, that space awaits.

Imagine waking surrounded by majestic mountains, where the morning air feels fresh, ancient temples rest among cedar forests, and sacred rivers carry stories of devotion through the valleys.

Here, each day begins with an invitation to slow down.

Through yoga, meditation, mindful movement, and moments of reflection, you are encouraged to turn your attention inward while discovering the extraordinary spiritual heritage of Northern India.

Walk along mountain paths, visit temples where generations have gathered in prayer, and experience places where spirituality is not merely something people practice, but something woven into everyday life.

Guided by Elena Efanova, this Himalayan retreat brings together the beauty of Manali, the sacred landscapes of the Kullu Valley, and the spiritual heritage of Dharamshala.

There is no pressure to change who you are, no expectation to find every answer.

Only the opportunity to experience India with an open heart, connect with others, and discover what moments of stillness may reveal.

Because sometimes, the journey that takes us farthest from home is the one that brings us closer to ourselves.

Your Spiritual Journey

Thirteen Days in the Himalayas.
A Journey That Begins Within.

Each day is a chapter of a meaningful journey — not a list of tourist attractions.

Schedule note: The following day-by-day sequence reflects the original retreat program. The revised schedule incorporating Dharamshala is pending final confirmation.
01
Delhi

The Courage to Begin

Sometimes, the most meaningful journeys begin with a quiet decision: to leave behind what is familiar and make space for something new.

Today, you arrive in India.

Beyond the airport, an extraordinary country awaits — one where ancient spiritual traditions remain alive in the rhythms of everyday life.

You are welcomed and transferred to your hotel, where you can rest after your travels.

As evening arrives, you meet Elena and the people who will share this experience with you. Over a welcome dinner, unfamiliar faces begin to become companions.

You may have come seeking peace, inspiration, or simply a moment to reconnect with yourself.

Whatever brought you here, your journey has begun.

02
Into the Himalayas

The Beauty of Letting Go

The city slowly fades behind you.

As the road carries you north toward Manali, the landscape begins to open. Mountain valleys stretch into the distance, and the world around you takes on a different rhythm.

The journey is long — approximately 10 to 12 hours — but the changing scenery offers a first glimpse of the remarkable region you have come to explore.

There is something humbling about approaching the Himalayas. Their immense presence reminds us how much exists beyond our everyday concerns.

Perhaps, somewhere along this road, you begin to feel a little less hurried.

A little more curious.

A little more present.

And when the mountains finally surround you, you realize that the journey has already begun to change the way you experience your surroundings.

03
Jogini Waterfall

Remembering How to Be Present

Your first morning in the mountains begins gently.

Through mindful movement and breathing, Elena invites you to bring your attention back to your body — not to achieve anything, but simply to notice how you feel.

After breakfast, you follow a mountain path toward Jogini Waterfall.

Imagine the sound of rushing water growing louder as you approach. The freshness of the air. The beauty of the valley opening around you.

Here, surrounded by nature, there is nothing you need to hurry toward.

You can pause beside the waterfall or continue farther along the trail, depending on your energy and comfort.

Later, the warmth of local hot springs offers another opportunity to slow down.

As evening arrives, you gather for practice, dinner, and a shared reflection circle.

Perhaps you notice something simple: how different the world feels when you give it your full attention.

04
The Sacred Forests of Manali

Where Ancient Stories Still Breathe

Imagine walking beneath towering cedar trees, where sunlight filters softly through the branches and the scent of the forest accompanies every step.

Hidden among these magnificent trees stands Hadimba Devi Temple, a place where mythology and devotion have lived side by side for centuries.

As you approach, you discover the story of Hadimba, a figure from the Mahabharata whose presence remains deeply connected to the spiritual identity of this region.

There is something remarkable about standing in a place where stories told thousands of years ago continue to hold meaning for the people who live here.

Your journey continues to Manu Temple, dedicated to the ancient sage associated with the origins of humanity in Hindu tradition.

As you walk through Manali, you begin to understand that India's sacred places are more than monuments. They are living expressions of memory, faith, and belonging.

And perhaps you find yourself wondering about the stories, beliefs, and traditions that have shaped your own life.

05
The Gift of Stillness

When Doing Nothing Becomes Something Beautiful

Imagine waking in the Himalayas knowing that, for once, you do not have to rush anywhere.

No crowded schedule. No list of things to accomplish.

Just the mountains, the morning air, and the freedom to experience the day at your own pace.

Your morning begins with gentle yoga and guided meditation. As you move and breathe, Elena encourages you to notice the sensations of your body and the simple experience of being present.

The afternoon is yours.

Perhaps you choose a quiet walk surrounded by mountain scenery. Perhaps you find a comfortable place to write in your journal. Or perhaps you simply sit, watching the changing light across the valley.

There is a special kind of freedom in allowing yourself to rest without feeling that you should be doing something else.

As evening approaches, return for restorative practice and a shared reflection circle.

Today is not about how much you experience.

It is about giving yourself permission to experience each moment fully.

06
Naggar

Where Art Meets the Soul of the Himalayas

There are places that seem to inspire a different way of seeing the world.

Naggar is one of them.

After your morning practice, travel through the beautiful Kullu Valley toward this historic mountain town, once the capital of the Kullu kingdom.

Here, you enter the world of Nikolai Roerich, the artist and philosopher who found profound inspiration in the Himalayas.

At his former home and studio, discover paintings and ideas shaped by the mountains, human culture, and the search for understanding.

Imagine standing where an artist once looked toward these extraordinary landscapes and found a lifetime of inspiration.

Your journey continues to ancient temples, including the hilltop Krishna Temple and the beautifully crafted Tripura Sundari Temple.

Through their architecture, stories, and living traditions, you encounter a side of India where spirituality is expressed not only through prayer, but also through art, craftsmanship, and the preservation of heritage.

As the day comes to a close, gather with your fellow travelers to reflect on what you have discovered.

Perhaps you leave Naggar seeing the mountains — and the world around you — with a little more wonder.

07
Parvati Valley

Where the Sacred Flows Through Everyday Life

The road leads you into Parvati Valley, a place of dramatic mountain landscapes, flowing rivers, and deeply rooted spiritual traditions.

After your morning practice, travel toward Manikaran, where natural hot springs and places of worship have drawn pilgrims for generations.

At the historic Gurudwara, you encounter the Sikh tradition of devotion, service, and community.

Pause to observe the quiet sincerity of worship and the ways faith is expressed through everyday acts.

Nearby, the natural hot springs offer another remarkable encounter with the landscape. If you wish, you may enjoy a soak where conditions and access permit.

Surrounded by the mountains, you begin to see how closely nature and spiritual life are connected in this part of India.

Today is an invitation to look beyond the differences between traditions and recognize something deeply human: the desire to find meaning, offer gratitude, and feel connected.

08
Bijli Mahadev

Every Step Becomes Part of the Journey

High above the Kullu Valley stands Bijli Mahadev, a temple dedicated to Shiva and surrounded by the grandeur of the Himalayas.

Reaching this sacred place requires a journey on foot.

As you follow the approximately three-kilometer mountain trail, the landscape gradually unfolds around you.

The changing views invite you to pause. The rhythm of walking brings your attention to the path beneath your feet.

For generations, pilgrims have made their way toward this temple, carrying their own prayers, hopes, and intentions.

When you arrive, discover the traditions and legends that have made Bijli Mahadev an important place of devotion.

You do not need to share the beliefs of those who worship here to appreciate the meaning this place holds.

Perhaps what stays with you is the temple itself.

Or perhaps it is the experience of reaching it — one step at a time.

09
Solang Valley

The Freedom to Choose Your Own Adventure

Imagine a morning when the mountains are waiting outside your window, and the day belongs entirely to you.

Begin with gentle yoga or meditation, then choose what feels right.

You may spend the day resting, walking quietly, or enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

Or you may join an optional excursion to Solang Valley, where wide mountain views and dramatic Himalayan scenery create a striking setting for exploration.

For those seeking adventure, activities such as paragliding may be available, depending on weather and local conditions.

There is no single way to experience the Himalayas.

Some people find joy in movement. Others find it in stillness.

Today, you are free to discover what brings you joy.

In the evening, reconnect with the group through a grounding practice.

10
Rewalsar

A Place Where Different Paths Meet

Imagine arriving at a peaceful lake surrounded by hills, monasteries, and sacred places.

This is Rewalsar, a destination of spiritual significance to Hindus, Buddhists, and Sikhs.

Here, different traditions have found meaning within the same landscape.

As you walk beside the lake, you discover places of worship and stories that have been preserved across generations.

Learn about Guru Padmasambhava, whose life and teachings hold great significance within Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

Visit revered monasteries and experience the atmosphere of a place shaped by pilgrimage and devotion.

There is something quietly moving about discovering a landscape that carries so many expressions of faith.

As you walk around the lake, consider how different spiritual paths can inspire reflection on the same timeless questions: who we are, what we value, and how we choose to live.

The day closes with evening practice, giving you time to reflect on this encounter.

11
The Caves of Padmasambhava

A Moment to Look Within

Some of the most memorable moments of a journey arrive quietly.

After morning practice and breakfast, set out on a guided mountain trek of approximately two hours toward the historic Padmasambhava Caves.

The path takes you into a landscape associated with Buddhist spiritual heritage and centuries of contemplative tradition.

As you approach the caves, imagine the generations of seekers who have been drawn to places like this in search of understanding and spiritual connection.

There is no need to force a profound experience.

Simply allow yourself to observe the surroundings, appreciate their history, and be present.

Later, gather with Elena and your fellow travelers for a final retreat reflection circle.

Think of the people you have met, the sacred places you have visited, and the moments that have stayed with you.

Perhaps you discovered something unexpected about India.

Perhaps you noticed something about yourself.

Or perhaps the greatest gift has been the opportunity to step away from your usual routine and experience life from a different perspective.

Whatever you take from this journey, it is yours.

12
The Road Back to Delhi

The Mountains Remain With You

Today, the road begins to lead you away from the Himalayas.

Through the windows, the mountain scenery slowly changes as you travel toward Delhi on the approximately 10–12-hour return journey.

You may recognize places along the way, yet experience them differently now.

The journey that once carried you toward the unknown is bringing you back with memories of mountain paths, sacred temples, conversations, and moments of quiet reflection.

Upon arrival in Delhi, settle into your hotel near the airport for a restful final evening.

The retreat is coming to an end, but the experience does not have to end with it.

13
Farewell India

What You Carry Home

Your final morning in India has arrived.

Gather once more for a moment of gratitude and reflection before preparing for your journey home.

Remember the first evening in Delhi, when the people around you were strangers and the Himalayas were still a distant destination.

Now those mountains are part of your memories.

You have walked through ancient forests, discovered sacred places, shared experiences with fellow travelers, and made time for something that is often difficult to find in everyday life: your own attention.

You may return home with new questions, a different perspective, or simply a collection of beautiful moments.

There is no single way a spiritual journey should change someone.

And there is no need to measure what it has given you.

Some journeys end when we return home. Others continue quietly in the way we remember, reflect, and live.

Dharamshala

A New Dimension of the Himalayan Journey

Its inclusion adds another dimension to this journey through the Indian Himalayas.

The specific Dharamshala activities, accommodations, and placement within the 13-day itinerary are awaiting confirmation from the retreat leader.
