My journey with India began several years ago. From my very first visit, I felt something I couldn't fully explain — a deep connection with the country's ancient wisdom, spirituality, traditions, and the energy of its sacred places.
India became a place where I felt inspired, renewed, and connected to something deeper within myself. It was a place I wanted to return to, not simply to discover more of its beauty, but to continue learning, reflecting, and growing.
With every visit, my connection deepened.
I discovered extraordinary landscapes, ancient temples, vibrant cities, and traditions that have been passed down through generations. But what touched me most were the people, the relationships I built, and the moments that reminded me that India is not simply a place you see.
It is a place you experience.
How Soul India Journeys Began
My personal connection with India eventually led me to Taj Mahal, a beloved Indian store that has been part of Seattle's community since 1982.
In November 2024, the opportunity arose for me to become its next owner. I officially took over the store in March 2025, continuing its legacy while bringing my own passion for India's culture, artistry, and traditions.
Through Taj Mahal, my connection with India found another expression.
I continued traveling to India, meeting artisans, discovering new places, learning about local traditions, and building relationships with people who generously shared their knowledge and stories.
But something unexpected began happening in the store.
Customers weren't simply interested in the products they purchased. They wanted to know more about the country behind them.
They asked about the meaning of a symbol, the history of a tradition, the craftsmanship of an object, or what it was really like to travel through India.
And as I shared my experiences, I began hearing something else.
"I've always wanted to visit India, but I don't know who I can trust."
Different customers expressed the same feeling.
They were curious about India. They wanted to discover its beauty, culture, history, and spirituality. But traveling somewhere unfamiliar could feel overwhelming.
They wanted someone who understood their questions, respected their concerns, and could help them feel confident about taking that first step.
Those conversations stayed with me.
I realized that my connection with India could become something more — an opportunity to help others discover the country in a way that felt personal, welcoming, and meaningful.
That is how Soul India Journeys was born.
A Journey Created from the Heart
Soul India Journeys began with a simple desire: to share the India that has touched my life with people who feel curious, inspired, or called to discover it for themselves.
For some, India is the perfect destination for an unforgettable vacation — exploring magnificent palaces, wandering through colorful markets, discovering extraordinary architecture, enjoying delicious cuisine, and experiencing breathtaking landscapes.
For others, it is a place to slow down, experience Ayurveda and wellness, or explore ancient spiritual traditions.
And for some, the journey begins with a feeling they cannot quite explain.
I understand that feeling.
India has changed my life in ways I could never have anticipated. My experiences there have brought me inspiration, gratitude, meaningful friendships, and a deeper connection with my own spiritual journey.
But I also understand that every traveler is different.
I don't believe everyone needs to experience India the way I have.
I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to discover India in the way that feels right for them.
That belief is at the heart of Soul India Journeys.
Experience India, Not Just Visit India
I created Soul India Journeys to bring together thoughtfully designed travel experiences and trusted people who know India deeply.
My goal is to help travelers go beyond simply visiting famous places.
I want them to have opportunities to discover the stories, traditions, landscapes, flavors, and human connections that make India so extraordinary.
Whether you come for adventure, cultural discovery, rest, or spiritual exploration, I hope your journey gives you memories and perspectives that stay with you long after you return home.
Because sometimes, a journey offers more than we originally came looking for.
With love & wanderlust,
